My career in the pharmaceutical industry spans 50 years, with a consistent focus on clinical development and trial planning across numerous therapeutic areas. Over the decades, I have witnessed transformative changes in how clinical trials are conducted, from the establishment of Ethics Committees and the introduction of Informed Consent to the adoption of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and the advent of electronic tools for data collection and management.
More recently, the field has embraced groundbreaking innovations, including decentralized clinical trials and electronic patient-reported outcomes (ePRO), among others.
